In the past, everything matched from the bed set to the dresser to the linens throughout the room. However, designer experts all agree that this might not be the best for the upcoming year in bedroom styling. There are other ideas that are more popular for this upcoming season for the master bedroom in your home. Here are the biggest bedroom trends in 2015.
Furniture That Coordinates
The bedroom should be approached much like your living room. Find furniture that coordinates and goes well together, but doesn’t necessarily match exactly. This will bring out the lines, the colors and the comfort of the bedroom as a whole.
Rustic and Raw Wooden Materials
When you add a little natural beauty throughout the room, it brings it out just a bit more. Rustic, raw wooden bedroom designs stand out against the once in modern appeal of metal and chrome looking items. These provide mid-century designs that make your room a bit different, yet beautiful all your own.
Most of the time, rooms will have one light that lights the entire room. You flick a switch and on it goes. However, with a bedroom, installing overhead lighting above the bed, or above a sitting area can help reduce the light noise throughout the room and may even set the mood that you’re after.
More Warm, Neutral Colors
Warm colors coordinate well with each other. A soft yellow, gray and white all mixed together provide a beautiful, subtle approach to the bedroom. It is also more comfortable and appealing for a bedroom since they are warm, relaxing colors, qualities most people want to associate with their bedroom. Bright colors will just add ‘noise’ to the room, causing you to feel more energetic than relaxed.
Adding sitting rooms, or even smaller desk areas can create a different purpose throughout the room and make it appear a bit more ‘lived in’ compared to just sleeping in the room. These rooms open up a bit more, welcome you in them and provide you with a bit more space to use in the home.
Getting your room to look and even function the way you’d like it too does not have to be difficult. With a few additions, this can become the most loved place throughout your entire home.
