Dine Downtown Restaurant Week 2014

Enjoy a gourmet meal for a great cause. The hottest Chefs in Downtown Sacramento will be preparing unique 3-course menus for hungry foodies for $31 per person. Experience the best of what the Sacramento culinary scene has to offer with part proceeds benefitting the California Food Literacy Center. Some of the participating restaurants include The Firehouse Restaurant, Grange, Esquire Grill, Il Fornaio, and Chops Steak & Seafood Bar.
Sacramento Bacon Fest

For love of all things pork, the Sacramento Bacon Fest takes advantage of this delicious ingredient. Various restaurants around Sacramento will be featuring bacon inspired dishes and some not so convential bacon recipes like bacon themed desserts and drinks. The festival's main event however, is the highly anticipated chef's competition hosted by Mulvaney's Pig on the Corner. Some of this year's competitors include Mat Brown of Golden Bear, Adam Pechal of Tuli Bistro, Billy Zoellin of Bacon & Butter, and Brian Mizner of Hook & Ladder.
Sacramento Beer & Chili Festival

You won't want to miss this spicy event. Regional breweries will be tasting their beers, and chefs will face off in an all-out chili battle royale. There is plenty of live entertainment and vendors as well a chili making competition judged by a panel of industry experts. Admission includes a tasting mug and a chili bowl for samples. This community event raises funds for arts programs for Sacramento regional schools.
Folsom Rhythm & Brews

Treat dad to a night of blues and beer at the Folsom's Rhythm & Brews festival this Father's Day weekend. 6 bands will be playing on 2 stages featuring some of the most talented names in the industry. This year's lineup has yet to be released, but some of the big names at last year's festival included Curtis Salgado, Chris Cain, the David Landon Band, Buck Ford, and Mumbo Gumbo. Quench your thirst with over 40+ craft breweries on hand showcasing their brews, or find lots of family fun at the Kid Zone.
Strauss Festival of Elk Grove

The Strauss Festival celebrates famed Austrian composer Johann Strauss with a day of music and dance. Enjoy a beautifully choreographed live dance production set to a live orchestral soundtrack.
The venue on Strauss Island is a gorgeous natural backdrop in Elk Grove Regional Park. A feast for the eyes, and the ears. Attracting over 20,000 every year, this is a haven for lovers of the arts from young to old alike.
Fair Oaks Chicken Festival

15,000 people flock to Fair Oaks for this annual celebration of all things chicken. Festival highlights include an Old Fashioned Pancake Breakfast, the Great Chicken Contest, as well as food and drink specials at participating restaurants. The festival also has lots of children's activities at Rocky's Roost including live entertainment, carnival games, activity booths, vendors and more!
Orangevale Country Music Festival

The Orangevale Country Music Festival is a one day celebration of this beloved music genre. This family friendly event features an impressive lineup of country musicians performing on the grand stage. Past performers have included the likes of Steve Holy, Joel Crouse, and Bush Hawg. The festival also showcases local food, festival vendors and family activities. Don't forget to bring your cowboy hat!
